I don't understand the mentality of a company that does animal testing. And where do they find employees who willingly participate in the torture of these innocent creatures?
Yes, I would understand if we took our lives in our hands every time we used soap to wash our hands. If testing on an animal kept our children from being harmed or losing their life, then yes, I could understand. But we don't risk our lives by washing our hands, shampooing our hair, or cleaning our bathrooms.
Why test these products on animals anyway? Humans will be the ones to use them, not the animals. Animals don't respond the same as people, so many tests are senseless. The tested animal aren't going to be using the products either, so what's the point?
I purchase cosmetics and household cleaners from a non animal testing company. If we would all buy from these types of companies, maybe we could stop animal testing. Harmful ingredients shouldn't be used in household products anyway. We could all benefit from using natural things to clean our home with. Our ancestors certainly didn't have access to these products with harmful agents in them and they managed just fine.
Although animals have been used to test for vaccines, the way they respond is different than the way humans respond. When animal testing has been done for cancer research, tests that were just as successful were done on human tissue cultures and computer models. Even when scientist claim to keep the animals free from abuse, the animals are locked up in tiny cages. It has been proven that the stress resulting from that can render useless test results.
So do some research and let's all help to stop animal testing. We'll all sleep better at night.
